Description
This Southern-style Peach Cobbler is a warm, comforting dessert made with sweet, juicy peaches and a golden buttery topping. It’s easy to make, perfect for summer gatherings, and best served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Ingredients
Scale
- 6 fresh or canned peaches, sliced
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Peel and slice fresh peaches or drain canned peaches. Place them in a 9×9-inch baking dish.
- In a bowl, mix granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Pour over the peaches and gently stir.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and milk until smooth.
- Pour the batter evenly over the peach mixture. Do not stir.
- Drizzle the melted butter over the top. Do not stir.
- Bake uncovered for 40–45 minutes until golden brown and bubbling at the edges.
- Let it cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm with vanilla ice cream if desired.
Notes
- Do not stir the batter after pouring over peaches and butter — this creates the perfect cobbler crust.
- Use canned peaches in juice for best results if fresh peaches aren’t available.
- Sprinkle raw sugar on top before baking for extra crunch.
- Make it gluten-free by using almond flour as a substitute.
