Description

This Southern-style Peach Cobbler is a warm, comforting dessert made with sweet, juicy peaches and a golden buttery topping. It’s easy to make, perfect for summer gatherings, and best served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 fresh or canned peaches, sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Peel and slice fresh peaches or drain canned peaches. Place them in a 9×9-inch baking dish.
  3. In a bowl, mix granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Pour over the peaches and gently stir.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and milk until smooth.
  5. Pour the batter evenly over the peach mixture. Do not stir.
  6. Drizzle the melted butter over the top. Do not stir.
  7. Bake uncovered for 40–45 minutes until golden brown and bubbling at the edges.
  8. Let it cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm with vanilla ice cream if desired.

Notes

  • Do not stir the batter after pouring over peaches and butter — this creates the perfect cobbler crust.
  • Use canned peaches in juice for best results if fresh peaches aren’t available.
  • Sprinkle raw sugar on top before baking for extra crunch.
  • Make it gluten-free by using almond flour as a substitute.
