- 12 small potatoes, diced
- 1 can cream soup (cream of mushroom, chicken, or celery)
- 3/4 cup milk (or mix of water and sour cream)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Optional: shredded cheese, fresh herbs, or frozen veggies
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the ground meat and cook until fully browned, breaking it apart with a spoon. Drain excess grease if needed.
- Add the diced potatoes directly to the skillet and stir.
- Cook for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the potatoes are fork-tender. Add a splash of water and cover the pan if needed to steam.
- Stir in the cream soup and milk (or sour cream + water mixture).
- Mix well and simmer for 5 more minutes until hot and creamy.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Optional: Sprinkle shredded cheese on top and let it melt before serving.
Notes
- Dice potatoes evenly for even cooking.
- Use a lid when cooking potatoes to speed up softening.
