Description

A cozy, creamy chai tea latte made with black tea, warm spices, and frothy milk. This easy homemade version is perfect for mornings or anytime you need a soothing, flavorful boost.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/4 cup filtered water
  • 1 chai tea bag
  • 2 teaspoons granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup milk (any kind)
  • Cinnamon (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Bring 1/4 cup of filtered water to a boil and pour into a mug. Add the chai tea bag and let it steep for 5 minutes.
  2. Remove the tea bag and stir in 2 teaspoons of sugar until fully dissolved.
  3. In a small saucepan, heat 3/4 cup milk over medium heat until it begins to steam (do not boil).
  4. Whisk the milk vigorously or use a milk frother until foamy.
  5. Pour the steamed milk into the chai tea, reserving some foam. Stir gently to combine.
  6. Spoon the remaining foam on top and sprinkle with cinnamon if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Reduce sugar to 1 teaspoon for a less sweet version.
  • Use plant-based milk for a vegan alternative.
  • Double the ingredients for a larger serving.
  • Make it iced by chilling the tea concentrate and serving over ice with cold milk.
