Description

As cold and flu season approaches, you might be looking for natural ways to boost your immune system and relieve symptoms. Flu/Cold Tea Bombs are the perfect solution! Packed with immunity-boosting ingredients like honey, lemon, ginger, and turmeric, these tea bombs are an easy and effective way to soothe your body and help you feel better. This simple DIY remedy is a must-try for anyone who wants to stay healthy this winter while sipping on something warm and comforting.

Ingredients

Scale
  1. 1/4 cup honey: A natural sweetener with antibacterial properties.

1 tbsp lemon juice: Packed with Vitamin C to boost your immune system.

1 tsp grated ginger: Known for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects.

1/2 tsp ground turmeric: Helps reduce inflammation and supports overall health.

1/4 tsp ground cinnamon: Offers antibacterial and antiviral properties, plus adds a lovely flavor.

1/2 tsp echinacea powder (optional): Known for supporting the immune system, perfect for fighting off colds and flu.

1 tbsp green tea leaves (or 12 green tea bags): Rich in antioxidants and perfect for adding a base of green tea to your drink.

Silicone mold for shaping (small, round molds work best).

    Optional Substitutions:

For a vegan version, swap honey with agave syrup or maple syrup.

If you want a caffeine-free alternative, replace green tea with chamomile or peppermint tea.

Instructions

Step 1: Mix the Ingredients

In a small bowl, combine the honey, lemon juice, grated ginger, turmeric, cinnamon, and echinacea powder (optional). Stir until all ingredients are thoroughly mixed and smooth.

Step 2: Fill the Molds

Using a teaspoon, fill each cavity of your silicone mold with about 1 teaspoon of the mixture. Press the mixture down gently to ensure an even layer. Then, take your green tea leaves (or cut open your tea bags) and press the loose tea into the top of the honey mixture, filling each mold completely.

Step 3: Freeze the Tea Bombs

Place the silicone mold in the freezer for 1-2 hours, or until the tea bombs are completely solid. Once frozen, pop them out of the molds and store them in an airtight container in the freezer until you’re ready to use them.

Step 4: Make the Tea

To enjoy your Flu/Cold Tea Bomb, simply place one frozen tea bomb into a mug and pour 1 cup of hot water over it. Stir gently until the tea bomb dissolves, and enjoy the soothing, healing effects of your homemade tea.

Notes

  • Use fresh ingredients: Fresh ginger and lemon will give your tea bombs a more vibrant flavor and provide additional health benefits.

  • Customize the tea base: While green tea is rich in antioxidants, you can experiment with other herbal teas like chamomile or peppermint for additional soothing effects.

  • Boost the flavor: Feel free to add a few drops of vanilla extract or a pinch of cayenne pepper for extra warmth and flavor.

  • Make ahead for convenience: These tea bombs store well in the freezer, so make a big batch to have on hand throughout cold season.
