Florida Shrimp Pie Recipe – Easy Seafood Dinner Idea

Description

Hey, seafood lovers!  If you’re looking for a delicious, easy-to-make shrimp dinner, this Florida Shrimp Pie recipe is just what you need. Packed with juicy shrimp, creamy cheese, and a flaky crust, this dish is a must-try for anyone who loves Southern seafood recipes. Whether you’re making it for a weeknight dinner, brunch, or a special occasion, this cheesy seafood pie is bound to impress.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 frozen deep-dish pie crust (12 oz)
  • ½ cup chive-and-onion cream cheese spread
  • 4 large eggs
  • 12 oz cooked, peeled, and deveined shrimp (thawed & drained)
  • ½ cup shredded pepper Jack cheese

Optional Add-Ins for Extra Flavor

  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning (for that classic seafood taste)
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder (enhances the flavor)
  • ¼ cup chopped green onions (adds freshness)
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (for a spicy kick)

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the pie crust on a baking sheet to catch any spills.

Step 2: Prepare the Crust

Spread the chive-and-onion cream cheese evenly over the bottom of the crust. This keeps it from getting soggy and adds creaminess.

Step 3: Make the Filling

In a medium bowl, whisk the eggs until combined. Stir in the shrimp and shredded cheese. If you’re adding extra seasonings or ingredients, mix them in now.

Step 4: Assemble & Bake

Pour the shrimp mixture into the pie crust. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is golden brown.

Step 5: Cool & Serve

Let the pie rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Fresh vs. Frozen Shrimp

  • If using frozen shrimp, be sure to thaw and pat dry to prevent extra moisture.
  • Fresh shrimp will give you the best flavor!

2. Crust Options

  • Prefer a low-carb seafood pie? Skip the crust for a crustless shrimp quiche.
  • For a flakier crust, pre-bake it for 5-7 minutes before adding the filling.

3. Make It Spicier

  • Add cayenne pepper or hot sauce for a spicy twist.
  • Try blackened shrimp seasoning for a Cajun-style shrimp pie.
