Instructions
Step1: Preparation
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
Step2: Make the Dough
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy using a mixer.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
- Gradually mix in the eggnog, followed by the dry ingredients. Continue until a smooth dough forms.
Step3: Shape the Cookies
- Use a medium cookie scoop to form 2-tablespoon-sized dough balls.
- Place the dough balls 2 inches apart on the baking sheets. Flatten each with the bottom of a glass sprayed with non-stick spray to about 1/2 inch thickness.
Step4: Bake
Bake for 9-11 minutes until the tops are set and edges lightly browned. Cool cookies on the sheet for 2-3 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Step5: Glaze
- Whisk powdered sugar and eggnog until smooth.
- Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cookies and let it set for 15 minutes. Cookies can be stacked after one hour.

- Use fresh spices: Grate nutmeg fresh for the best flavor.
- Don’t overmix: Mixing too much can make the cookies dense.
- Measure flour correctly: Spoon it into the measuring cup and level it off to avoid adding too much.
